Whether you need a cosigner depends on a variety of factors such as your age and your credit history.

You do not need to add a cosigner unless you are under the age of majority in your respective state. If you are an international student, some lenders may require you to add a cosigner.

However, if you have a limited or poor credit history, adding a creditworthy cosigner can improve your chances of qualifying for a private student loan.

Just like for the main applicant, it takes just two minutes for a cosigner to complete the Sparrow application. Checking prequalified rates does not affect the cosigner’s credit score.
